The MOSS Robotic Construction kit is suggested for ages 8 and up. 

8-10 year olds will benefit greatly from learning the basics of MOSS construction alongside an adult or group. While Cubelets are fairly intuitive for all ages, the MOSS system can be challenging for younger and even older students to get started with.

Each MOSS kit comes with a Getting Started guide, but you can also utilize a few other cool resources found on ModRobotics.com. Our online guide, Getting Started with MOSS has an even more detailed step by step walkthrough of the MOSS system. You can also find our Getting Started video, as well as a link to our collection of MOSS Robot Recipies submitted by the community of MOSS users!

For natural tinkerers, those who get a kick out of taking things apart and putting them back together, routing power and data throughout your MOSS robot may come naturally, but for most, it will take some trial and error. If you find that you’re having trouble creating working robots with your MOSS set, try brainstorming and building prototype robots in 3D with our MOSS Robot Builder and use the X-Ray function to visually check out your power and data paths.
