December 9, 2012 at 12:34 am #700Paul AndersenParticipantJust received a new set, fired it up, and the battery died (or possibly just stopped transferring power) after about 30 seconds. Charged the batteries and got the same result a second time. Some pretty disappointed kids in my house. How can this problem be solved?
December 9, 2012 at 9:19 am #702Jonathan MoyesParticipantHi Paul,
I’m really sorry to hear about the problem you’re having with your Cubelets. It sounds like something has gone wrong with your Battery Cubelet or its rechargeable cells, but we’ll get that taken care of right away. I’d like to send you a new Battery Cubelet and a fresh set of batteries. Could shoot me an email at support@modrobotics.com with a good mailing address for you? I’ll send those items out first thing Monday morning and you and your kids should be back to building tiny robots by the middle of the week!
Thank you,
Jonathan Moyes

It appears to be a simple copy and paste bug.

September 2, 2014 at 7:24 am #3670Genaro MartinezParticipantHi, I want program some cubelets to perform specific task as complex systems. Actually, I have a small kit of cubelets. My question is: What I need to programm cubelets? I have this studio interface for mac but I do not if I need a bluetooth cubelet for programming the rest of cubelets. Thanks!
September 2, 2014 at 9:03 am #3671Jonathan MoyesParticipantHi Genaro,
That’s awesome that you’re interested in reprogramming your Cubelets! Downloading Studio is a great first step, so now you just need the Bluetooth Cubelet. That Cubelet forms a bridge between your computer (and Cubelets Studio running on it) to any of the Cubelets in your construction, enabling reprogramming, remote control, and remote data logging.
You can find the Bluetooth Cubelet here: https://archive.modrobotics.com/cubelets/cubelet-bluetooth-2/
We’re out of stock right now, but you can enter your email address into the form and we’ll notify you when it’s back in stock! I expect them to be in stock by the middle of this week.
Thank you, and good luck programming!

September 10, 2014 at 10:55 am #3695Eric LundbyParticipantHi Christine,
Sorry about that! We misplaced the getting started guide in a site wide re-design. I just got finished re-building the Cubelets getting started guide. We will be updating this guide in the coming weeks, so I will post back here when we do. Sorry for any inconvenience.
September 10, 2014 at 4:10 pm #3727Genaro MartinezParticipantThank you dear John. Just a short question. If my program could not work fine, I would reset to original program on cubelet. Is this possible? How I can do this one?
September 11, 2014 at 10:04 am #3728Jonathan MoyesParticipantAbsolutely! When you have the programming interface open there will be a button for “View Default Code.” Clicking that, then going through the programming process, will restore the Cubelet to it’s factory-default behavior.
September 11, 2014 at 1:52 pm #3729John BohnParticipantHello, I have just received MOSS and cubelets. You guys are amazing. Thank you so much.
Have a few questions:
1) Can cubelets be dropped – fall off table- on a a wood floor.
2) How does reprogramming work for PCs. I have Windows 7.
3) How can the original (default) firmware be restored?
4) Will there be firmware updates for my existing set? Thanks again,
JohnSeptember 11, 2014 at 2:54 pm #3733Eric LundbyParticipantHi John Bohn,
1) Can cubelets be dropped – fall off table- on a a wood floor.
We do extensive drop tests here at Modular Robotics. Your Cubelets should definitely be fine falling off of the table. That’s not to say we recommend doing this on purpose!
2) How does reprogramming work for PCs. I have Windows 7.
To reprogram Cubelets, you will need a Bluetooth Cubelet. For reprogramming Cubelets on Windows, you can use the reprogramming system found at http://code.modrobotics.com I recommend browsing through the Getting started guide before diving in.
For reprogramming Cubelets on a Mac, you can use Cubelets Studio. There is also a decent chance we will be moving to Cubelets Studio on Windows in a few months, as some of the major browsers are deprecating the plugin that CODE relies on.
If you got your hands on an Exofabulatronixx MOSS kit, you can also reprogram your MOSS brain in a couple different ways. Check out https://archive.modrobotics.com/moss/programming/.
3) How can the original (default) firmware be restored?
In all of the reprogramming systems, after you connect, there is a ‘Restore Default Firmware’ option.4) Will there be firmware updates for my existing set?
There are occasionally firmware updates for both MOSS and Cubelets. You will receive a message to update your blocks in any of the mobile apps or reprogramming systems if there is an update available.September 13, 2014 at 3:27 pm #3742John BohnParticipantHi Eric,
Thank you for answering my questions.
I am reading the reprogramming getting started, which is very interesting and helpful.
I wanted to let you know that in the Shared Cublets Robots page the program name links need updating.
