Internship: Programming Robot Blocks

Posted: August 8, 2016

About Modular Robotics

We make robot construction kits for kids.  We’re making millions of little robotic cubes and we’re looking for some amazing people to join our team in Boulder, CO.  We’re a startup, we’re venture backed, and we’re changing the way that kids think about complex systems.

About the Internship

Thank you for your interest in the internship, we’ve filled this position and are no longer accepting applications.

We’re working on a new system that seriously expands the possibilities for building with Cubelets robot blocks. It’s a programming system that encourages kids to reprogram some or all of their Cubelets to get robots that do new and wildly interesting things. While we’re designing, building, and iterating on the system, we’re seeking a Research Assistant to build a ton of new robots using the system. You’ll build robots, document and publish them, provide feedback to the design and engineering teams, build more robots, and help us make the best system possible. This internship will require a lot of creativity and will hopefully be a lot of fun too. This is a paid internship.

Some requirements:
  • This position is only available to people currently enrolled as undergraduate students.
  • Some programming experience would be helpful, but isn’t necessary.
  • Ten hours per week availability through the end of 2016.
  • The ideal candidate will be patient, curious, self-motivated, and upbeat.
